Originally founded by 13 members in June 1990, we officially became affiliated to the Associated Embroiderers’ Guilds of New Zealand in June 1991.
Our Guild aims to promote embroidery and unite those who are interested in all types of stitching. A great place to learn and share embroidery – everything from cross stitch to mixed media creations, goldwork to blackwork, canvas work to beadwork to just about any other embroidery. Our Guild has 19 members and we hold a formal meeting on the 3rd Monday of the month – at the Bridge Club. At this meeting we have a variety of activities – mini workshops, Guild projects, displays of work and access to the Guild’s library. We have one less formal meeting called “Stitch and Chat”, held at the Bridge Club. This meeting takes place on the first Monday of every month from 10am to 2pm. At this meeting, members work on their own stitching. This is a great opportunity to get advice, encouragement and ideas from other members. A great place to learn and share embroidery – everything from cross stitch to mixed media creations, goldwork to blackwork, canvas work to beadwork to just about any other embroidery. |
